TMZ: 'American Idol' Losing Ellen, Kara

Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez To Join Randy Jackson

TMZ is reporting that both Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi are apparently out as "American Idol" judges in a major shakeup to the reality television singing contest.

The news comes two months after Simon Cowell left "Idol."

TMZ also says the show will go back to a three-judge format. If all of the deals go through, the panel will be Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith front-man Steven Tyler.

Vote Now: Do You Like The New "American Idol" Judges?

DeGeneres announced Thursday that she would not be returning to "Idol" next season, posting on her website that "Idol" just wasn't the right fit for her and that her work schedule became more than she bargained for.

And TMZ says Kara has been fired . The only way she'll be saved is if the J-Lo deal falls through.
