The Philadelphia Eagles Community Quarterback Award presented by Teva Pharmaceuticals recognizes outstanding volunteers in the tri-state area. This program honors individuals who exemplify leadership, dedication, and a commitment to improving the communities in which they live through volunteerism.
**Who is Eligible?
Residents within 75 miles of Philadelphia, age 18 and older, who provide volunteer services for nonprofit (501(c)(3) or 509) organizations are eligible for nomination. Nominees may only serve in a volunteer capacity and may not receive any compensation – monetary or otherwise – for their efforts.
**Nomination Process:
Nonprofit organizations in the Philadelphia area may nominate volunteers by completing the Community Quarterback Award application (one for each volunteer). Individuals may nominate themselves. Nomination forms must be received by the Philadelphia Eagles no later than November 20, 2009.
** Voting
Nominations should be submitted to the Philadelphia Eagles for review. The team will appoint a review panel to review the nominations. In late November, the team will announce the ten finalists for their Community Quarterback Award. On December 15, 2009, the ten finalists will be invited to an event to be honored for their efforts. $100,000 in grants will be awarded to the nonprofit organizations that the ten finalists serve. Seven finalists- $4,000 each; Two runners-up- $11,000 each; One team winner - $50,000. Winners will be announced publicly.
