Live 7 A.M. Friday: Military Salute

Join us Friday morning for a live celebration!

Philadelphia - It’s an early Veterans Day celebration this Friday, November 6th, as we salute the men and women serving here and overseas in our armed forces. Market Street between Third and Fourth Streets will be closed for a live “Good Day Philadelphia” street fair from 7 to 10am.

Join Mike Jerrick, Jennaphr Frederick, John Anderson, Sue Serio and the rest of the "Good Day" team for live performances, displays and demonstrations from local organizations and branches of the armed forces including:

• A National Guard display a replica of an F-22, a t-shirt shooter, rock climbing wall and basketball and football displays.

• A U.S. Coast Guard display of a 25-foot SAR [Search and Rescue] boat.

• 2 TACP's [Tactical Air Control Party] and a humvee with a communications suite installed from the 148th Air Support Operations Squadron.

• A tricked-out stretch limo which honors fallen servicemen and women and those lost on 9/11 from Fallen Heroes PA.

• Performances by the Valley Forge Military Academy and College band, drill team and choir.

• Information booths from the U.S. Marine Corps. “Toys For Tots,” the USO, Operation Homefront, the American Red Cross, the Battleship New Jersey, Warrior’s Watch and Hero’s Welcome Home.

• Representatives from the Patriot Riders and Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders.
