SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. - Striking "Jersey Shore" cast members may see their two-day-old strike blow up in their faces, after show producers reportedly want to fire them.
TMZ says only MTV is keeping 495 Productions, the company that produces "Jersey Shore," from pink slipping the seven cast members who are holding out for more money.
Mike 'The Situation" Sorrentino was offered a separate deal last week from the rest of the cast, but he is out on strike with Pauly D, Ronnie, Vinnie, J-Woww, Snooki and Sammie.
Echoing reports from this spring, TMZ says producers only want The Situation, Pauly D and Snooki on the show in the long run, and they want to add new cast members.
The dispute hinges on whether the second season of "Jersey Shore" should consist of two parts. The original cast shot scene in Miami this spring that will start to air on July 29.
More scenes were set to start production last weekend in Seaside Height, N.J.
Filming of the next part of MTV's "Jersey Shore" was to start in Seaside Heights on Sunday, but the gang didn't show up as part of a labor dispute.
TMZ says the seven cast members won't work until they get a guarantee of more money from MTV. Former cast member Angelina is no longer on the show.
Sources tell TMZ the cast feels they can make more money doing personal appearances in July and August, rather than filming "Jersey Shore."
Fox 29 was up in Seaside Heights last week, where production crews were already in place of the series.
TMZ says five cast members no-showed on Sunday, and the two biggest stars, Snooki and The Situation, will not show up on Monday.
The cast currently gets $10,000 per episode per person. The Situation was apparently looking for $27,000 per episode, plus a ratings bonus.
Before appearing on the show, most cast members worked in lower-paying service jobs.
MTV also held open auditions in the Spring in Atlantic City for new cast members.
