Will Kate Gosselin hurt Sarah Palin's political career when the two moms appear together on Palin's new TLC show in November?

As silly as that sounds, the pundits are starting to talk after TLC announced late Friday that Gosselin would appear on "Sarah Palin's Alaska" sometime in November, after the fall general elections.

Palin is a presumptive presidential candidate for 2012 and has already released one video that appears to be a campaign advertisement.

In the time before the 2012 election, Palin is writing books, doing the TLC series and appearing on Fox News as a contributor.

But does an extended photo of with a reality TV star who is a magnet for the paparazzi and bad press the best decision for Palin.

Baltimore Sun writer Dave Zurawik covers the Gosselins and he has doubts the Palin-Gosselin paring doesn't do a lot for Palin.

"Gosselin is not exactly the queen of credibility, and Palin can't exactly afford to squander any credibility she has left -- if she wants to have any future in politics," he says.

The pairing should do a lot for Gosselin, who lost one-third of viewers from "Kate Plus 8" after just two episodes.

The camping trip already drew the attention of one Palin nemesis: David Letterman.

"Sarah Palin is criticizing the president's visit to 'The View' as a cheap TV stunt. Then she went camping with Kate Gosselin," he said.

There is also the possibility that Palin's relatives may appear with Gosselin and not Palin herself.

The National Enquirer claims Gosselin stormed off a camping trip with the Palins after two hours when she was told her bathroom facilities would be a plastic bucket.

TLC told TV critics on Friday that its new multi-million dollar series, "Sarah Palin's Alaska," will debut in November and Kate Gosselin will be featured in one episode.

TLC President Eileen O'Neill said that the Palin family "graciously shared their Alaska with the Gosselin family," and confirmed their adventures will be part of an episode of Palin's reality show.

The show will reportedly have the Gosselins fishing and hiking with the Palins.

The network didn't comment about the Gosselins camping with Palin, after reports for weeks that the two celebrity moms camped together.
