Seacrest Escapes Idol Stage Accident

Stage Manager Injured

    HOLLYWOOD - A malfunction on a dress rehersal on "American Idol" injured a stage manager Tuesday moments after Ryan Seacrest used the same device.

    TMZ first reported the accident, which was later confirmed by Secrest live on the opening moments of Tuesday night's show.

    TMZ reported that a staircase Seacrest walks each show retracted too soon, injuring the stage manager moments after Seacrest walked off the stage in a dress rehersal.

    Seacrest also confirmed TMZ's report that there was ""debris and glass" that fell on the stage.

    He told viewers that the accident prevented the final four contestants on the show from doing their final rehersal just before the show.
