SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. - An Allentown, Pa., woman who famously flipped off Simon Cowell at a local “American Idol” audition, has been found dead.
Alexis Cohen, 25, auditioned for the Idol judges twice and became known as “Glitter Girl” after her profanity-laced tirades against Cowell.
Investigators say Cohen's body was found on the side of a road in Seaside Heights, New Jersey around 4 a.m. Saturday.
Authorities have ruled her death a homicide and say she was struck and killed by a car.
The Ocean County Prosecutors Office says an autopsy indicated Cohen suffered chest, head and abdominal injuries caused by the collision.
Police say the case is under investigation.
When Cohen auditioned two years ago in Philadelphia, she told the show she was sharing an efficiency apartment with her mother in Allentown.
After singing a Jefferson Airplane song and not getting past open auditions, Cohen threw a tantrum in front of Ryan Seacrest and used colorful language to describe the judges.
Cohen was also an aspiring comedian and actress.
