Sources reportedly close to concert promoter AEG say the public memorial will be at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. AEG also owns that facility and the nearby Kodak Theater.
The memorial would start at 10 a.m. PT.
The Jackson family and his legal representatives have not announced official plans for the memorial.
Al Arabiya and X17online say the Jackson family is also working with Jermaine Jackson to prepare the late singer for a Muslim burial ceremony.
In any manner, Neverland won’t be involved in the services.
However, hotel rooms in the small resort town of Los Olivos were sold out, and the media is still camped out at Neverland.
CNN reported on Tuesday that Jackson's body was set to be driven to Neverland Ranch late Thursday morning, and a public viewing was to take place on Friday at Neverland.
Neither event is expected to happen.
Neverland is located in the rolling hills of central California's wine country, about 150 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
