Jackson Memorial Tickets Free On Web

About 18,000 tickets for the Michael Jackson service will be offered on the Web – but there is a catch.

Fans will need to enter a lottery at the following Web address for the free tickets:

The random drawing will end on Saturday night at 9 p.m. ET.

The memorial will be broadcast live at 1 p.m. ET Tuesday on MyFoxPhilly.com.

“It is all about the fans,” said Ken Sunshine, a family .

Jan Perry, Los Angeles city councilwoman and acting mayor, said the city has money to pay for overtime costs for “extraordinary events.”

“Without a ticket, you might to consider watching this event from home,” Perry said.

Tim Leiweke, AEG president and CEO, said 17,500 tickets will be offered, with 11,000 tickets at the Staples Center and 6,500 at the Nokia Theater.

Ticket holders will be notified on Sunday, when they get a code. That will give them a location on Monday to pick up 2 tickets and 2 wristbands.

Leiweke said there will be no funeral procession, and no live TV outside the event.
