In one corner is Jennifer Aniston, the former TV star who wants to be Hollywood's top leading lady – and have a steady, famous boyfriend.
In the other corner is the eccentric but popular Renee Zellweger.
In between the two women is actor Bradley Cooper, who co-starred with Aniston in a recent movie, “He's Just Not That Into You.” (Note: Cooper was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Jenkintown, Pa.)
The feud started in June when Aniston and Cooper went on a date and Aniston reportedly made her intentions clear to Cooper.
However, Cooper began dating Zellweger in July and now the two are an official couple.
That hasn't stood well with Aniston, whose friends told Us Weekly that Aniston thinks she has "more to offer than Zellweger."
Aniston "doesn't see what Renee has that she doesn't," the insider tells US. Other recent reports attributed to Aniston
Both women are the same age (40) and have dated (and married) famous men.
And both compete for similar movie roles that are very lucrative.
Aniston made a whopping $25 million last year, compared with Zellweger's $10 million. But Aniston trailed Angelina Jolie as the highest-paid woman in Hollywood. And Zellweger has been paid more for certain roles than Aniston.
But what could really set this fued ablaze is Cooper, who is now seen as a big-time Hollywood leading man.
Zellweger also has an Oscar and also has been getting a lot of publicity for her new romantic comedy, “My One And Only.”
Aniston has been knocked off tabloid pages in past weeks by ex-husband Brad Pitt and Jolie, who are promoting Pitt's new movie with Quentin Tarratino.
