Former reality TV star Jon Gosselin is “very relieved” that ex-wife Kate Gosselin has been dropped by TLC.

The network cancelled “Kate Plus 8” on Monday after the show did poorly in the ratings while Kate Gosselin was paid handsomely.
Jon Gosselin has said little publicly since he bowed out of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” and reached a legal settlement with TLC.
In an interview with Radar Online , he was most happy for his children.
"I hope they can have more private family moments," he said. "I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future."
Jon Gosselin also had a message for his former wife.
"I hope she dedicates more time to the kids now and I wish her the best as she goes forward with whatever career she wants to pursue."
Kate Gosselin was getting a reported $125,000 per episode for “Kate Plus 8” as a limited-run TV series.
Kate Gosselin that she will seek a career as a motivational speaker and an author.
"TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8," a TLC representative said in a statement. "By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future."
Ratings for "Kate Plus 8" were poor last Monday and trailed almost every cable show that night with 1 million viewers.
The reality show, originally called "Jon & Kate Plus 8," launched Kate and former husband Jon, their twins and sextuplets to stardom in 2007.
While the show's ratings spiked as the Gosselins' on-screen bickering escalated into divorce, viewers dropped off after the couple separated and Jon Gosselin left the show in 2009.
The last episode of the reality show will air Sept. 12.
