Kate Gosselin has ended her six-year run on TLC on Monday night, but not before the Reading-area mother of eight started a Twitter war when she said her ex was a "mediocre" parent for working a day job.

Gosselin and her children made their final appearance (for now) on “Kate Plus 8,” the spinoff of the formerly popular “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”
TLC put Gosselin up against a stacked lineup of competition on Monday night after the show tanked in the ratings for the past year.
But Gosselin isn’t taking the cancellation sitting down. In several media interviews, Gosselin said she has every intention of trying to keep her career going as a media figure on TV, as a way to support her eight children.
She told Matt Lauer on The Today Show it was “the end of an era” but she planned to keep up her celebrity status as a way to make money.
"At this point, the best opportunity for me would be me continuing in TV as a way to provide for my kids," Gosselin said. “I’ll be back.”
Gosselin was more blunt about her ex's decision to get a construction job, where she called Jon Gosselin a “mediocre” parent for not wanting to pursue a celebrity career.
"It's a situation where Jon may be accepting of mediocre for his kids and working a regular job. I want the best for my kids and the best opportunities not unlike every parent. To be a good parent is to work as hard as you can and give them the best opportunities in life, and this has provided that."
Jon Gosselin has a regular day job in the Reading area and has decided to retire from the reality TV spotlight.
She also tried to defend her “mediocre” comment on Twitter after she was slammed by mothers and others who were offended.
"2clarify re 'mediocre' - I meant this job is not a career acc 2 jon but tv is 4 me & is hard but will prov best opps 4 my kids vs nursing!" Gosselin said in Twitter speak.
After getting more criticism from Twitter fans, Gosselin tried to clarify her remarks again.
"Not wut I ment.was reply2 jons comment re I should get a 'normal' job-wouldn't work4me $ w8kids kudos2allhardwrking parents!
Kate Gosselin was also now promoting her own Web site using Twitter.
She will have some options after her contract with TLC expires. There were reports she was lobbying for a guest slot on “The Talk,” the CBS afternoon clone of “The View.”
In August Jon Gosselin told Radar Online that he thought the move from TV would be good for his kids.
"I hope they can have more private family moments," he said. "I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future."
Jon Gosselin also had a message for his former wife.
"I hope she dedicates more time to the kids now and I wish her the best as she goes forward with whatever career she wants to pursue."
