PHILADELPHIA - The body of the late Whitney Houston arrived by private jet at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey on Monday night.
The singer died Saturday at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel.
Houston's family has not yet announced the details of the funeral services, but her body was taken to the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark.
Church services are expected to take place at the New Hope Baptist Church, where Houston began her singing career in the church choir. She was born in Newark and was raised in nearby East Orange.
There are reports that Houston's family is planning to hold a wake on Thursday with the funeral on Friday at Newark's Prudential Center.
As final burial preparations are made for Houston, there are still many questions as to what exactly killed her.
FOX's Claudia Cowan reported from Hollywood that the singer was discovered in her bathtub at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel by members of her staff. She was reportedly unconscious and unresponsive when paramedics arrived.
The Los Angeles coroner's office said prescription drugs were found in her hotel room. They stayed tight-lipped about reports that her death could have been caused by mixed drug use or even drowning.
An autopsy was performed Sunday.
Authorities said there would be more answers once they received toxicology results, which could take as long as eight weeks. A preliminary report could be released as early as Wednesday.
