Monday's Jon and Kate Gosselin tribute show was a huge disaster for TLC, with an epic ratings plunge.

The special one-hour retrospective about Jon and Kate Gosselin drew just 1.5 million households, compared with 10.4 million households for the June 22 episode that announced the couple's divorce.
The Memorial Day show that focused on infidelity rumors had nearly 9.8 million households.
TLC said last week that “Jon & Kate Plus 8” was on hiatus until August, as the network tried to find a new formula for the show.
Reportedly, TLC will now show each parent separately with their brood of eight children.
However, there are strong doubts within the TV industry that such a format can draw viewers unless the show can find a new audience.
Its previous audience was attracted to a storyline about plucky parents struggling to support eight kids.
Now, the show is focused on the parents as celebrities, their
fights with the paparazzi and each other.
On Tuesday, Us Weekly says Christian publisher Zondervan is
delaying the debut date of Kate Gosselin's cook book.
The book was to be published in November 2009, but need
changes. Its selling point: "inside look at one of America's most
famous close-knit families."
The CEO of Zondervan, Maureen Girkins, said it plans to "work
with Kate to reassess the schedule for her next book."
The cook book has also been dogged by allegations its recipes
had appeared on the back of consumer products, and claims by
relatives that Kate Gosselin can’t cook.
