50 Employers Plan To Fill 6,000 Jobs

PHILADELPHIA - It was just last week that Fox 29 News showed and told you about the thousands of people in our area looking for jobs.

The great thing is there are a number of opportunities on the horizon – jobs in a number of fields, according to Philadelphia Business Journal Editor Bernie Dagenais.

The newspaper's reporters called 50 of the biggest employers in the Philadelphia area to find if they're hiring in the next year.

Dagenais joined "Good Day Philadelphia" on Friday morning to explain where the jobs are and he gave a sampling of them, as provided by the companies:
922 at Jefferson Health System
400-500 at AlliedBarton Security Services
348 at Merck & Co. Inc.
446 at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
300 at Comcast Corp.
223 at SEPTA
193 at Vanguard Group
191 at TD Bank
150 at Drexel University
100 at Wells Fargo (Wachovia)
65 at Exelon
