Meet City's 'Teacher Of The Year'

PHILADELPHIA - It's been said before that being a teacher is one of the most challenging yet rewarding professions, and Friday morning "Good Day Philadelphia" introduced you to one of the best.

Brian Malloy, a math teacher at Bodine High School in Northern Liberties, was just named the city's "teacher of the year."

A high school leadership team's nomination letter says his "dedication to student success is evident not only in the classroom, but also every morning at 7 when Mr. Malloy's students congregate in his office to study together and receive academic coaching from their teacher long before his 'contractual day' begins."

Last year's winner also came from Bodine.
