Marilu Sutter, of MLS Fitness in Rosemont, Pa., suggested several activities to help burn calories even as you're having a good time at the shore.
The ideas included:
Surfing – 200 calories per hour
Jumping waves – 300 calories an hour
Building a sandcastle – 100 calories an hour
Beach paddleball – 350 calories an hour
Beach volleyball – 500 calories an hour
