HARRISBURG, Pa. - There are more details now on the story that we broke for you Monday on "Good Day."
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett named himself chairman of the DRPA board on Monday as he replaced a total of six Pennsylvania members, some of former Gov. Ed Rendell's top picks.
Corbett will not be paid as chairman. There are 10 other board members who will remain the same.
The list of who's out includes DRPA Chairman John Estey, Philadelphia City Councilman Frank DiCicco and local labor leader John Dougherty.
The newly-appointed members of the board include three attorneys, a real estate investor and a government relations expert.
But can they turn the agency around after a list of events thrust them into the public spotlight?
Pennsylvania state Rep. Mike Vereb, of Montgomery County, joined "Good Day" on Tuesday morning to share his reaction to the news (click the second video to watch the full interview).
"This is the best thing that's been in the same sentence as DRPA for two years," Vereb said. "I've been pushing. Actually, I'm thrilled. The governor informed me yesterday of his move."
Vereb praised Corbett for taking this type of a position and looks for some immediate changes on how things are done and meetings are conducted.
Vereb also said he hopes the next step will be the removal of DRPA CEO John Matheussen.
Fox 29's Steve Keeley has been following this story since it broke and has more int his video report.
