PHILADELPHIA - On this week's "Good Day champs, we recognized 9-year-old Olivia Smith-Donovan, a fourth-grader from Claymont Elementary School.
Olivia won the Kids' Science Challenge, a national science competition, in the "bio-design" category.
Kids were asked to take their inspiration from nature to create a new idea.
Olivia came up with the idea of building a prototype from maple seeds to drop emergency packages from great heights.
She got the chance to meet with engineers from the Universities of California and Maryland.
Fox 29's Mike Jerrick interviewed the young genius Thursday morning.
