Bolaris was joined by john Police commissioner charles ramsey, FOP leader John McNesby and Kim Pawlowski, the widow of Police Officer John Pawlowski.

The race was established to strengthen the relationship between Philadelphia’s public safety employees and the communities they heroically serve, while raising money for a great cause. The proceeds will go to the Survivor’s Fund and will defray the costs resulting from the deaths of Philadelphia police officers, firefighters and correctional officers, who lose their lives in the line of duty.

The Run was the brainchild of Bolaris and FOX 29 reporter Dave Schratwieser. They came up with the idea in February of 2009, after the tragic slaying of Police Officer John Pawlowski, who was shot in the line of duty while trying to foil a cab robbery.

“After the tragedy that the city experienced when we lost Officer Pawlowski, and all slain police officers, firefighters and correctional officers, I knew I wanted to do something significant to celebrate our city’s heroes and their families,” said John.

The entry fee is $27.50. Runners may register online at www.imATHLETE.com. Cancellations are allowed, but there are no refunds. All entry fees will be considered a donation to the Fund.
