Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce talks about the players standing up for coach Andy Reid as the team tries to recover from a slow start.

Kelce said the players did have a players-only meeting on Wednesday led by the veterans.

“It was to emphasize that Andy [Reid] had taken a lot of heat for our un-success on the field and we owe it to him especially to get this thing corrected. We need to get our mistakes corrected,” Kelce said.

“Coach isn’t turning the ball over,” Kelce said. “I’m tired of seeing all these signs for Andy.”

Kelce laughed about a report that he had talked with some fans about some signs about Reid posted outside the team’s practice facility.

“We asked them to take it down. We did say, if you don’t take it down, we might get out and take it down, but the biggest thing was we support, we are very grateful for all the fans who come out and cheer for us every week, come out, support the team. For them, I mean, I have great respect for them and the support they give us. We promise we will get this thing corrected.”

“But to all the people and the naysayers, and the critics and everybody, and the media that are bashing us, I don’t really got a lot of respect for them, but right now, we are out there just trying to get it corrected, and trying to be loyal to the head coach, right now.”

The Eagles are in Washington this Sunday in a game that will be televised by Fox 29 at 1 p.m.
