The Fattals Prepare To Welcome Home Josh

ELKINS PARK, Pa. - Montgomery County native Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer are back on US soil for the first time in over two years.

Their harrowing ordeal began in 2009, when Fattal, Bauer and Bauer's fiance Sarah Shourd, were hiking in Iraq's Kurdish region. The hikers say they may have accidentally crossed over into Iran when Iranian guards detained and subsequently jailed the Americans.

Shourd was freed last year before the formal trial began. Fattal and Bauer were convicted last month in an Iranian court, but were freed last week on $1 million bail.

Noone was happier to see Josh Fattal than his mother, Laura Fattal. This morning, Fox 29's Karen Hepp was out in Elkins Park, at Laura's home, where family, friends and neighbors prepare for a grand homecoming, 781 days in the making.
