Laptop With 21K Patient Records Stolen
A major breach of security for patients at Jefferson University Hospital has been reported.
A laptop that contained health and personal information on 21,000 patients was stolen from an office in June.
The patients learned of the theft by letter last Friday. The laptop is password-protected, but the records are not encrypted.
