There are kids who die every day after suffering sudden cardiac arrest while playing sports.
On Friday morning, "Good Day's" Jennaphr Frederick learned some of the signs to look for in order to try and prevent this from happening to your child.
For many of the kids, fainting during a sports practice or game is the first signal that something is wrong.
Dr. Rose Cummings, a pediatric cardiologist, spoke about some of the other warning signs to watch out for.
Rep. Mike Vereb, (Pa, R-150) said he heard about the issue from "Good Day." He has a bill which would demand that kids be cleared by a cardiologist after fainting.
Also discussed Friday morning was Simon's Fund, which helps parents detect heart problems in their children. Joining JennFred to talk about the fund were: Darren and Phyllis Sudman, Simon's parents; Josie McCabe's, whose son, Kyle's, was helped by Simon's fund; and Denise Frazier, whose stepson, Akhir, died while playing basketball.
