PHILADELPHIA - Time to check those lottery tickets from earlier this week, especially if you live in or near the city's Frankford section.
The Pennsylvania Lottery says one jackpot-winning Cash 5 ticket worth $225,000 from the June 20 drawing was sold at Krauszer's Food Store, which is located on the 8230 Frankford Avenue.
The ticket correctly matched all five balls, 05-06-10-24-28, to win a jackpot of $225,000, less 25-percent federal withholding.
The food store receives a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Lottery officials said they cannot confirm the identity of the winner until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated.
Cash 5 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.
The holder of the winning ticket should sign the back of it, call the lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at lottery headquarters in Dauphin County or any of its seven area offices. Claims may be filed at headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices.
The lottery noted in its news release that it contributed $235.4 million to Philadelphia seniors' programs last fiscal year, in addition to awarding more than $270.4 million in prizes to Philadelphia County.
