Movie Star Comes Out Of Closet

Actress Kelly McGillis, who starred in the 1980s blockbusters “Top Gun” and “Witness,” tells People magazine she is gay.

McGillis, 52 , told the magazine in an interview that she has come to terms with her sexuality.

“I had a lot of things happen that convinced me that God was punishing me because I was gay," said McGillis, who also said in 1982 she assaulted by an escaped rapist.

McGillis told People she's "done with the man thing.”

The twice-divorced mother of two has been out of mainstreaming acting for awhile, but did recently appear in the cable TV series “The L Word.”

She lives in Berks County, Pa.
