What Does Your Sleep Position Mean?

Sleep Position and Personality

The position you sleep in says a lot about you and your personality.

The U.K. Sleep Assessment and Advisory Service looked at six common sleeping positions and determined what each position means.

The fetal position indicates a person is tough on the outside and sensitive. They can be shy at first but eventually relax. This is the most common sleep position.

If you sleep lying on your side with both arms down by your side, this is called the log. Log sleepers are typically easy going, social, and like being apart of the crowd. They are also trusting of strangers and may be gullible.

The yearner is the person who sleeps on their side with both arms out in front. Yearners have an open nature but are suspicious and cynical. They can also be slow to make up their minds. But once they make a decision, they stick with it.

The soldier sleeper lies on their back with arms pinned to their sides. These people are usually quiet and don't like a fuss. They also tend to set high standards for themselves and others.

Freefall sleepers sleep on their front with hands under the pillow and head to one side. These people are often gregarious and brash. But they can be thin-skinned and nervy. The don't like criticism or extreme situations.

And finally, there's the starfish. Starfish sleepers sleep on their backs with arms up around the pillow. These people usually make good friends because they are good listeners and offer help. They do not like to be the center of attention.
