White House Welcoming First Pooch

PHILADELPHIA - The first family is welcoming the first pooch to its new home this week.

After much anticipation by President Obama's daughters, and the public, "Bo" has arrived.

Mary Remer is a dog trainer and breeder. She told "Good Day Philadelphia,"  a Portuguese water dog was the perfect choice for Obama daughers, Shasha and Malia.

Remer says it is an active breed that is very task oriented. But with good training and educated owners, portuguese water dogs are great pets.

Remer says these dogs are very trainable, but you need to start the process early.

Six-month old "Kingston," and his young owners,  made their television debut with Remer.
