BALTIMORE, Md, - Emergency crews are at the scene of a major water main break in a residential area of Northeast Baltimore.
It's happening in the 1600 block of Argone Drie near Hillen Road in Baltimore.
Public works officials tell the Associated Press that a 42-inch main broke, and it was causing large amounts of water to flood roadways. Crews were checking area homes to see if there were any gas leaks associated with the break.
Residents were urged not to try to return to their homes, or to stay there if they were already at home. Officials said the cafeteria at Morgan State University was being made available to those who couldn't go home.
There were no reports of any injuries immediately.
It's not known how long it will take to stop the leak, or home many homes were without water.
