(MYFOX NATIONAL) - You might not be surprised to have a reporter ask you for man-on-the-street opinions about big companies collapsing or social networking -- until he starts asking follow-up questions about Enron or how often you check Friendster. Causing this sort of time-warp confusion is the M.O. of comedian Gil Ozeri , who grills New York City residents on the pressing issues of the mid '90s as the "Untopical Man on the Street."
Most of Ozeri's subjects try to be helpful, informing him about the existence of Facebook and Wikipedia. Some have no reaction beyond "uhh." One man responds to a question with "Where are you from, the Twilight Zone?" As the man answers his cell phone, Ozeri asks, without missing a beat, "What is that, a computer?"
When he's not getting to the bottom of Ricky Martin's phenomenal popularity, Ozeri spends his time attempting to confuse phone sex operators. In a series of videos hosted on his YouTube page , Ozeri calls phone sex lines claiming to have a fetish for bad stand-up comedians, old-timey barbers or Clippy, the animated paper clip from Microsoft Office.
