LOWER MERION, Pa. - Parents in the Lower Merion School District are holding a meeting Tuesday evening to try and put a stop to a lawsuit over webcam spying allegations.
They're worried their tax dollars will be used to pay off the suit, which the plaintiffs are seeking to make a class action.
Tuesday's meeting starts at 7 p.m.. at the Narberth Borough Hall.
Fox 29's Jennaphr Frederick spoke with several legal experts Tuesday on "Good Day."
Attorney Amy Feldman says before parents can opt out of the suit it must be certified as a class action lawsuit. Only if the suit is certified will parents be permitted to opt out.
Attorney Fred Perri says "evidence shows there was an invasion of privacy." But proving that could be "easier said than done." He believes this case also involves "the chase of the almighty buck."
Attorney Todd Henry says, "I think over the last 8-10 years, there has been such an intrusion on people's privacy rights that it is good to see it come back into the limelight and be the frontrunner of what is going on in the discussion. "
