Officials said that since 2006 violence in city schools has dropped 52 percent.

Philadelphia educators met Thursday in Center City to talk about the techniques which helped curb the violence that plagued schools like West Philly high just two years ago.

"My kids, you know, are happier. You walk down the hall and you don't see the disrespect and the dysfunction of two years ago. They speak to each other. Adults speak to them. The adults speak to them. I mean, it feels like, it's starting to feel much more like a family and less like a building of strangers or even adversaries," Principal Saliyah Cruz said.

Since the end of the 2006-2007 school year, student on student attacks are down 66 percent.
