PHILADELPHIA - From New York to Boston and Los Angeles, thousands have been taking to the streets to protest greed on Wall Street.
Get ready, Philadelphia – "Occupy Wall Street" is heading to the "City of Brotherly Love."
What can we expect? What will we get here? Fox 29's Lauren Cohn was live at City Hall on Wednesday night just hours ahead of the planned protest.
The group "Occupy Philadelphia" plans to meet outside City Hall at 9 a.m. Thursday. Some members plan to camp at the building overnight.
Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey and Deputy Commissioner Richard Ross canvassed the plaza at City Hall on Wednesday as they prepared for "Occupy Philly."
The group met Tuesday night at Arch Street United Methodist Church. About a thousand people plan to march until their demands are heard.
One of the organizers told Fox 29 their goal is to put power back to the people because major corporations and top 1-percent earners have so much more say in government than other citizens.
Their frustration with the current economic climate will echo protests already gaining momentum in New York and elsewhere.
Extra police will be out at City Hall. That means overtime, which Ramsey said will cost taxpayers. Plus, Ramsey said there will be some disruption.
