Pastors Charged With Mortgage Fraud

Warrants Issued For Building Program's 3 Leaders

WILMINGTON, Del. - State prosecutors say a small church in New Castle County is at the center of a mortgage rescue fraud scheme.

Officials announced a 21-count indictment Tuesday against the leaders of Vision Builders Christian Center and its Master Builders for Christ program. Warrants have been issued for the arrests of Jamaar Manlove, Larry Manlove, Rhonda Manlove.

The indictment alleges that Jamaar Manlove ran a criminal enterprise involving theft, money laundering and forgery, preying on vulnerable homeowners who faced imminent foreclosure.

Authorities say the homeowners were told they could sell their homes to avoid foreclosure, then repurchase them later. But authorities say hidden fees robbed homeowners of thousands of dollars of equity and that they ultimately lost their homes because they could not obtain financing to repurchase them.
