The Philadelphia Daily News first reported the verdict in the case.
Ung shot Eddie DiDonato Jr., a former Villanova lacrosse captain, in January 2010 in front of the Fox 29 building entrance at Fourth and Market streets in Old City on a Saturday night.
Fox 29 security cameras caught the shooting on videotape around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on January 17, 2010, when Ung bumped into DiDonato and his friends in front of Fox 29.
DiDonato and his friends appeared to follow Ung, who pulled out a gun and pointed the weapon during the confrontation.
DiDonato was critically wounded but survived. He is a former captain of Villanova's lacrosse team.
Ung, a 29-year-old former Temple University graduate law student, was licensed to carry a gun.
Ung had testified that he shot DiDonato in self-defense after being threatened and lunged at by the victim and three others. DiDonato and his three friends denied provoking Ung.
Ung, who faced attempted murder and other charges, was represented by lawyer Jack McMahon, who is now representing abortion clinic doctor Kermit Gosnell.
