PHILADELPHIA - A crackdown on crime led police officers to a North Philadelphia landmark over the weekend.
Officers raided The Legendary Blue Horizon on North Broad Street on Friday night.
Witnesses said officers removed alcohol from the boxing arena.
The Blue Horizon, an icon in the world of boxing, has hosted fights since the '60s.
The raid was a part of "Operation Pressure Point," an anti-crime initiative by police and other law enforcement agencies targeting high-crime areas on weekend nights.
Eleven other bars were raided as a part of this weekend's operation. Eight of those bars were closed. Police reported nearly 50 narcotics arrests and said more than $20,000 worth of drugs was taken off the streets.
