Family Displaced By Yeadon Blaze

Fire Crews Work Until 1 A.M. To Extinguish Fire

Yeadon, PA - A two-alarm fire ripped through a Delaware County home, leaving a family of five homeless.

The blaze broke out on the 400 block of Lansdowne Avenue in Yeadon around 7:00 p.m. Monday.

Fire crews worked until 1 a.m. to fully extinguish the blaze.

"The whole first and second floor are gone. Right now, I've got guys working on an inside line, just staying on the first floor, trying to knock out some hot spots above on the second and third floor. There was some report of collapse so they backed out," said Chief Michael Melazzo of Yeadon Fire Company.

Video from SKYFOX showed flames and smoke shooting out of the house.

The family managed to escape the fire. There were no injuries reported.

There is no word yet on where the family is staying.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, although officials say it appears to be accidental.
