A woman says she is the victim of a hate crime after finding a series of animal carcasses on the lawn of her Bucks County home.
The family believes it's not just some sick prank, and the animal carcasses are stomach-churning, Fox 29's Julie Kim reported.
In the words of homeowner Wanda Hughley, "It's a hate crime."
She said a nearby tiny, shivering bunny was a part of a sickening message left outside her Penndel, Middletown Township home.
"These animals, they were baby rabbits that were mutilated. Body parts were cut up. It looks like they used something like a big knife," Hughley said.
They don't look like animal kills. Scattered around her property were other rabbits either whole or hacked into pieces, too graphic to show on television.
Hughley said it was too late too shield her own daughter.
"My 11-year-old daughter was screaming this morning when she came out of the house. She became very frightened," Hughley said. "I don't think this was an accident. I don't know anybody who hates me, so I definitely think that this was an accident. This was done purpose to try to scare me and my family."
As one of few minorities who live in the area, Hughley said she believes it's racially-motivated.
One week ago, someone took days-old road kill and put it on her property. She didn't think much of it until finding the other remains Thursday.
"Close your eyes and just imagine your 11-year-old child coming out of the house and seeing dead rabbit body parts. I'm asking you to please stop. Please stop this," she said.
