PHILADELPHIA - The Pennsylvania State Police have issued an Amber Child Abduction Alert for Upper Southampton Township Police in Bucks County after a carjacking that may have a mother and child in the trunk of a car.
The carjacking was reported shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday following an accident.
A 38-year-old Feasterville woman, Bonnie Sweeten, called 911 later Tuesday afternoon and said she was the victim of that carjacking. Sweeten told a dispatcher that she and her 8-year-old daughter, Julia Rakoczy, were in the trunk of a Cadillac.
She said the dark-colored Cadillac bumped her car then two men in that vehicle put her and her child in the trunk. That call was traced to a cell phone tower in downtown Philadelphia.
"She said in the call that she had been rear-ended in her vehicle on the street road of Southhampton Road in Upper Southhampton, Pa. and that she had been placed in the trunk of the car that had rear-ended them. It was described as a 1990s black Cadillac driven by two unknown black males and that she was placed in the trunk with her daughter and driven away," says FBI spokesman J.J. Klaver.
Upper Southampton Township Police are searching for Julia, a white, non-Hispanic female, 8 years old, 4' 1" inch tall, 59 pounds, long brown hair, blue eyes, dime-sized birthmark on her forehead, unknown clothing. Police are also searching for her mother, a white, non-Hispanic female, 38 years old, 5'11” tall, 130 pounds, blond hair, blue eyes, was in the vehicle also.
Authorities are looking for Sweeten's gold or silver GMC Yukon Denali, which has Pennsylvania license plate GYK-8998. They're also looking for a black 1990s Cadillac.
