PHILADELPHIA - A local newspaper says “hoax mom” Bonnie Sweeten paid $100,000 in cash to free herself from jail.
Phillyburbs.com reported Tuesday that court records show Sweeten came up with 10 percent of $1 million in bail, in apparent contrast to published claims by her lawyer.

On Saturday, Sweeten's lawyer attorney Louis Busico said family
and friends pooled their money together to come up with the cash.
"There's obviously a very strong sentiment in the community
that she's a wonderful person -- a very decent person -- and people
were willing to put their money where their mouths are," said
Busico.
But the PhillyBurbs.com report counters that claim.
The news comes a day after Sweeten’s 9-year-old
daughter Julia Rakoczy talked to ABC’s “Good Morning
Amercia” about her mom’s flight to Disney World.
Bonnie Sweeten faces misdemeanor charges of false reports and
identity theft. Police are also investigating whether she stole
money from a family member or others, but no related charges have
been filed.
She is scheduled for a Thursday hearing in Bucks County, and
is currently believed to be in seclusion with family or friends
near Philadelphia.
