Fatally Beaten Toddler's Dad Stabbed

The father of a boy beaten to death in April became the victim of a stabbing early Wednesday morning in Woodbine, New Jersey State Police said.

Juan Rivera Perez was stabbed outside a Pentecostal church and then walked a short distance before collapsing outside the doors of the Puerto Rican Action Committee, according to state police.

Weeks ago, Perez was at the committee's office to complain about abuse against his son, Caden, allegedly at the hands of the mother's boyfriend.

The boy was later killed, and the boyfriend is now charged in Caden's death.

Perez is in the hospital, and detectives were still at the stabbing scene at noon Wednesday investigating.
