Students at Neshaminy High School donned their red and blue caps and gowns today.
The Class of 2010 graduated under sunny skies. The last thing on some of their minds was a contract dispute between thier teachers and the school district, but some students and parents were very upset. The teachers did not show up to graduation.
After working without a contract for two years, the teachers decided to work to contract and do nothing else.
Fox 29's Sharon Crowley has been following this story over the past few weeks. Tonight, she attended graduation.
What did students have to say about the no-show teachers?
One senior said, "I think it kind of punished the seniors. It is unfair to us. We wanted them to be here."
On the other side, one student added, " I really do not have an opinion on it. It is actually not my business and since I graduated, it is not my business anymore."
Regarding those contract negotiations, the superintendent does not think there will be a deal in place by the start of the new school year.
