Cops: Baseball Bat Attack Over Kitten

A Delaware man is fighting for his life after he was apparently hit in the head by a partygoer in a fight over a kitten.

Dakota Hall, 19, of Felton, Del., faces assault and other charges after he allegedly hit a 21-year-old man with an aluminum baseball bat. Police say the man has life-threatening injuries and is in a Kent County hospital.

The incident happened at 3:30 a.m. Sunday at a party on Upper King Road in Felton.

Police say Hall was in possession of a kitten, which belonged to a nearby resident. A dispute erupted over the ownership of the cat.

During the argument, Hall allegedly found an aluminum baseball bat and struck the 21-year-old man in the head.

A second man was hit in the face during the tussle.

The bat was discarded into a nearby wooded area and later recovered by state troopers.

Hall is being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Facility in lieu of a $21,500.00 secured bond.
