Police Say West Philly Robberies Are Linked

Police are looking for two suspects in a string of armed robberies in West Philadelphia.

Investigators have linked four robberies since Tuesday night. Two of them occurred at bars, while the other two were at state-run liquor stores.

The first robbery happened at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday in the Wine & Spirits Shop at 51st Street and Lancaster Avenue.

The second robbery happened at 11 p.m. Tuesday inside Caprice Villa at 50th and Market streets.

The third robbery happened at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday at Smitty's Millcreek Bar, located at 601 North 52nd St. Witnesses tell Fox 29 News a man came into the bar, pointed a gun at an employee's chest and demanded cash.

The fourth robbery happened at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in another Lancaster Avenue at Wine & Spirits Shop, this one at 46th Street.

Police said they want to catch the robbers before the violence escalates.
