PHILADELPHIA - Disgraced former CBS 3 news anchor Larry Mendte wants to change his deal.
Mendte pleaded guilty to one felony count of cyber-spying on his former co-anchor, Alycia Lane.
Now, he says he should have been charged with a misdemeanor.
Mendte's lawyer filed a motion in federal court Wednesday asking for the change.
In November, Mendte stood before U.S. District Judge Mary Mclaughlin and said he understood what he was doing and there were no promises in the deal.
In the motion, he says his lawyer at the time is partly to blame.
In the 72-page motion with attachments, his current attorney, Julia Morrow, also included details about how Lane told investigators they had "kissed" and he bought her an $800 platinum necklace from Tiffany's after they became "affectionate" at CBS 3 in December 2003.
In a previous version of this story, we incorrectly said Mendte told that to investigators.
