Medical Waste Washed Ashore On LBI

Medical waste washed up on Long Beach Island recently.

The Atlantic City Press reported the debris was found between Barnegat Light and Surf City last weekend.

Health officials said they didn't report the incident earlier because the waste was cleaned up by Monday morning.

Officials have been checking at each high tide but said no other waste has been found.

Investigators are now working to determine what medical facility the materials might have come from.
