Beaten Rape Suspect Admits Mental Issues

    PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man charged with raping an 11-year-old girl admitted in court Monday that he has mental problems.

    Jose Carrasquillo was in court to waive his preliminary hearing.

    Police said Carrasquillo followed the girl, pulled her into an alley and assaulted her. She was hurt so badly that she needed surgery.

    Carrasquillo was spotted in Kensington a few days later and attacked by residents until police took him in to custody.
