Philadelphia police commissioner Charles Ramsey says one of three officers who went into a closed bar may face criminal charges after a robbery.
The other two officers are expected to be cleared in the incident at Pat’s Café, the same Philadelphia bar where Off. Gary Skerski was killed in 2006.
Ramsey said three officers were walking by Pat’s Café when they noticed an open doorway on Tuesday morning at 4 a.m.
Two officers went into the bar to investigate, and then called a security firm.
A third officer alleged found a safe in a back room and took $825 in cash.
On Wednesday, the security company was reviewing tapes after the money was reported missing, and saw the three officers drinking beverages that were not alcoholic.
The officers are also reportedly members of the K-9 unit.
Ramsey said there was no forced entry and just one officer was acting improperly.
That officer is under investigation.
Ramsey also said the cash hasn’t been recovered from the incident.
