300 Pa. Guard Members Return From Iraq

FORT DIX, N.J. - Family members of a Pennsylvania National Guard unit got a last-minute surprise when their loved ones arrived home two hours earlier than expected.

Three-hundred soldiers arrived at the Fort Dix military base in New Jersey around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning.

They are part of the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team that's based in Northeast Philadelphia.

The homecoming is the first wave of more than 4,000 guard members who served in Iraq combat operations.
