Woman, Neighbors Hold Suspect At Bay

Police said a Delaware woman and her neighbors held a burglar at bay until officers arrived, aiding in his arrest.

According to New Castle County police, 22-year-old Cody Cox, of Manchester Lane in Wilmington, was caught stealing $25,000 worth of jewelry, cash and electronics from a Claymont woman's home at 12:28 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the woman came home from shopping to find her home ransacked and Cox fleeing. The woman and several of her neighbors kept Cox from leaving by surrounding him, and police said he threatened to "blow up" the woman's home.

Cox has been charged with burglary, theft and making terroristic threats.

He was released from the Howard Young Prison after posting bail.
